The Village: History, Music & Activism 2

The most iconic neighborhood in NYC

  • 30 US dollars
  • Bigelow Chemists, 6th Ave between W 8th and W 9th Street

Service Description

As one of the most iconic neighborhoods in NYC, it is no surprise Greenwich Village is also one of its most historic and politically charged. From NYU and Washington Square Park, to its legendary music venues, to the famous people who lived there, to its cultural impact, the Village is as popular today as when Dylan, Springsteen, Hendrix, Ginsberg and others roamed the streets looking for gigs. Some places you will experience: - A Civil War watering hole with a colorful history - One of the oldest cemeteries in NYC - An iconic bar that championed Gay Rights (nope, not that one, but we will go there too) - One of the first themed restaurants - The places where many music icons got their start - A public park with a macabre history - The historic, activist and always vibrant Washington Square Park
